Frank Banks Obituary
It is with profound sadness that the family of Frank Banks, long time resident of Moon Lake, announce his passing on June 8, 2022 in the Drayton Valley Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Frank was born in Wednesfield, England to his parents Emily and Francis Banks on July 11, 1938. He would venture to Canada at the young age of 16 to work on many ranches throughout Alberta. Frank enjoyed the country life and there was no place he would rather be than on the back of a horse on the family ranch. Frank took immense pride in competing in the Calgary Stampede as a bareback rider and outrider for the chuck wagons in 1957. He was an avid Calgary Stampeder's fan and would never miss a game. Frank enjoyed the simple life, and his family and friends meant everything to him. You could always count on the coffee pot being on, and you were sure to hear him boast of the accomplishments his children and grandchildren have made.
He is survived by his loving wife Fay, of 64 years. His children Margaret (Dale), Joan (Dwane), and Frank. His grandchildren Justin (Rosalie), Ryan (Sarah), Frankie (Kylee), Jena (Derry), Steven (Kristen), and Brooke (MacKenzie). Also leaves to mourn his great grandchildren Mya, Brynn, Elias, Mina, Chloe, and Dante. Sister Joan (Paul), brother David (Dorleen), and their extended families. Frank was predeceased by his parents Francis and Emily, brother in-law George, and grandson Kaelin.
