He was predeceased by: his parents, Mike and Mary; and his sister Angela Fasenko. He is survived by: his wife Pat; his daughters, Terry Shankowski (Lorne Young) and Jodi Boyko; his grandchildren, Taryn Shankowski (Tyler Ramsay), Karly Cusack (Shayne), Tanner Shankowski (Seanna Leaf), Kent Boyko (Sherida Germain), Kole Boyko and Kara Boyko (James Braga); his great grandchildren, Navy and Boone Cusack; and his sisters, Elsie Huk and June Proznik. He is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews.
