With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William Schermerhorn (Edmonton, Alberta), who passed away on August 1, 2022. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his son Raymond Schermerhorn (Luna Kendal); his grandchildren, Freyja, Maghnus and Odin; his parents, Ray Schermerhorn and Bridget Schermerhorn; his sisters, Colleen Klassen, Joanne Maughn (Rod), Shawna Wylie (Cameron) and Tammy Schermerhorn; and his brothers-in-law, Randy Klassen, Kris Godreau and Bill. He is also survived by his seven nieces, nephews, and one great-niece and nephew.

In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made in Billy's honour to one of the local children's sports charities he frequently supported, the Straight Blast Gym.

“My name is Scott. I only just found out about Bills passing. It was a shock. I was good friends with Bill from 1995 untill I moved back to Nova scotia in 2001. I wanted to offer his family my deepest condolences. I only knew him a few years but was lucky to be able to spend a lot of time with him.was a great friend.
