Wayne Richard Franklin Obituary
Wayne Richard Franklin, aged 62, peacefully passed away on May 10th of 2023 at the University of Alberta hospital. Wayne was born in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia on August 23rd of 1960 to Richard and Phyllis Franklin. He studied at the Technical University of Nova Scotia where he went on to obtain his Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering on May 7th of 1983, as well as his Master of Engineering on May 16th of 1997.
He later married Angela (Beketova) Franklin on June 4th of 1998. On September 19th of 2003, April 21st of 2009 and October 30th of 2011 respectively, Wayne and his wife welcomed their eldest daughter, Danielle; twin daughters, Amadea and Kendalea; as well as twin sons, Brady and Sylvan into the world whom he loved very dearly and by whom he will be immensely missed. Wayne was a devoted family man who loved spending time with his children.
He spent many afternoons cooking and baking with his daughters as well as cherished several friendly games of chess with his sons. Wayne was a talented and intelligent problem-solver to whom his oldest daughter owes much of her academic success. He had a lifelong love of reading and could often be found invested in a good book.
During his earlier years, Wayne also enjoyed curling and procured many trophies and victories. Wayne is survived by his mother; his wife; his five children; his aunt, Joan Franklin and his brother, Mark (Cheryl) Franklin. He is predeceased by his father.
The family would like to thank the U of A Hospital and the Emergency Department for their care of Wayne. His funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 17th of 2023 at the Leduc Municipal Cemetery.
