He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom Inkster and Phyllis Inkster; and his son David. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia; his children, Lindy (Percy), Debbie (Karl) and Doug; his stepdaughter Angela (Kevin); his stepgrandson Ryan; and also Keith.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Wayne's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Edmonton Humane Society.
