Verna Marie Hochachka Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Verna Marie Hochachka of Edmonton, Alberta, who passed away on January 18, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Fred; her daughter Leah; her parents, Domnika Shupenia and Achtemiy Shupenia; her siblings, Mary, Mack, John, William and Ed; and her cousin John Rechlo.
She is survived by: her children, Kathy and Gene; her sister-in-law Nadia; and her brother Andrew. She is also survived by numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A requiem service was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the St. Barbara Russian Orthodox Cathedral (10105 96 St, Edmonton, AB T5H2G3). A Mass was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at the Cemetery Range Road.
