She was predeceased by: her parents, August Hitman and Gertie Hitman; her brother Stewart Hitman; her husband Robert Porter; and her son Randall Garbe.

She is survived by: her sons, Richard Garbe and Norman Garbe (Brenda); her grandchildren, Tyler Garbe (Lindsay), Candice Garbe and Kirzten Zoe Balanay Garbe; her great grandchild Nevaeh Garbe; and her sister-in-law Malvina Hitman.

Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
