Shayla Nicole Heise Obituary
With amazing spirit, spunk and personality, Shayla peacefully passed away with her family by her side on April 13th, 2023 after a courageous unfortunately short battle with a very aggressive cancer.
Shayla is loved and forever remembered by her parents Marvin & Kerry, Brother Dakota and loving wife Janel, very soon to be already loved beyond this universe niece (AKA Pearl Rose). Grandparents John & Barb Ramsay, Carol Heise. Uncles Chris (Donna), Lee (Heidi), Paul (Krista), Shane (Shawna), numerous cousins Kelsey, Gillian, Madison, Morgan, Max, Payton, Avery, Everett, Gavin, Gage, Nixon, Keevan, Dagan, Ryssan, Jayden and Marcus. Her very special four-legged companions that never left her side for the past 5 months, Mya, Oakley and Pepsi and her little sausages always up for a visit with Auntie, Mochi and Hamilton. Shayla also leaves many special friends that she has met throughout her life. Her many years of playing hockey as well as the special friendships developed while working at Sobeys Hollick Kenyon. The 12th was spent seeing and speaking to as many as possible. She was able to share many stories and tons of laughs with many family members and friends.
Shayla had many heavenly angels waiting for her with open arms, Grandpa Ernie Heise, waiting to go buy lottery tickets and great grandparents. All of her past fur babies were also waiting patiently for her to join them.
The family would like to thank Dr. Carmen Gingles for her compassion and support for Shayla and the family. Without her we would not have the extra time that we were given. The amazing Dr’s and Nurses at the Grey Nuns Hospital and Cross Cancer Institute. They all went above and beyond, bent a few rules to ensure that Shayla was comfortable and was able to be with family day and night throughout her fight.
A very special thank you to the management and staff at both WDDC and Sobeys Hollick Kenyon for your support and understanding from the very start of Shayla’s diagnosis. Your willingness to allow us to alter our schedules allowed for us to be with her every single day of her fight, she was never left alone.
Shayla’s celebration of life will take place on Monday, April 24th, 2023 at 10:00am at Evergreen Memorial.
