He was predeceased by: his brother Bernie; and his sister-in-law Laure. He is survived by: his wife Janet (Keane); his children, Lorraine Van Soest (Robert), Ron Garneau and Kim Lefebvre (Marc); his grandchildren, Jeffrey Van Soest (Mia), Chris Van Soest (Amanda), Jessica Dowling (Derek), Kameron Flynn, Kurtis Flynn, Scott Garneau and Alana Garneau; his great grandchildren, Kailey, Malachi, Brooklyn, Elias, Rylie and Clara; and his brothers, Gerry, Bob (Joyce) and Claude (Eveline). He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute (https://albertacancer.ca) or Alberta Diabetes Foundation.
