He was predeceased by: his parents, Jelle Rypstra and Grietje Rypstra; his granddaughter Melissa; his grandson-in-law Brendan; and his great grandchildren, Evelyn and Colton.
He is survived by: his wife Imma; his children, Wayne, Rod (Michele), Ed (Brenda) and Ella Mae (Jerome); his grandchildren, Doug and Tahn; his children, Janelle, Steve, Jonathan, Dakota, Emily, Stuart, Joel, Maria, Shane, Andrew, Reid, Julia, Chad and Olivia; and his sisters, Jenny, Greta, Henny and Coby. He is also survived by many relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home (10011 114 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5K1R5). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Maranatha Christian Reformed Church (11905 47 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5W2W9).
