He was predeceased by: his children, Jaylene Cardinal and Stacey Brertton; his parents, Raymond and Caroline; his siblings, Valorie, Lester, Louis, Beatrice, Sandra, John Cardinal and Sabrina Wahsatnow; and his grandparents, Norris, Isabelle Cardinal, James and Mary Louise Desjarlais.
He is survived by: his children, Falene, Kendall, Vern Crane, Ty Colby Lewis and Darcy Brertton; his grandchildren, Rayden, Kay, Aiden, Ajax Blackstar, Keyon, Shay-Lee, Christy Whiskeyjack, Keanu Brertton, Janessa Wood, Casey Moses and Damian Moses; the mother of his children Sharon Brertton; his siblings, Cecile, Patricia, Michael, Melvin and Christopher; his aunt Mary O.; and his uncle Hank. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews & cousins.
A wake was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Ayiwakes Cultura Centre (404a 50TH St, Saddle Lake, AB T0A3T0). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Ayiwakes Cultural Centre (404a 50TH St, Saddle Lake, AB T0A3T0).
