He was predeceased by: his wife Gladys; his daughters, Connie Purich and Lynda Ginter; his parents, Stefan Gontowiuk and Helen Gontowiuk; his siblings, Anton Gontowiuk and Nancy Chichak; and his brother-in-law Walter Chichak.

He is survived by: his son Garry Gontowiuk (Carrie); his grandchildren, Amber, Tyler Purich (Makayla), Carter, Avery and Sawyer Gontowiuk; his son-in-law Perry Purich; and his sister-in-law Ruby Gontowiuk. He is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.
