It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nestor Chanasyk (Edmonton, Alberta), who passed away on December 13, 2020, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Nestor Chanasyk to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas and Xennia; his siblings, Amelia Mytrunec, Bohdan, Victor and Alexander; and his son-in-law Wayne Alford.
He is survived by: his wife Elsie; his children, Len (Marilyn) and Lorraine Alford; his grandchildren, Alexis and John Alford; his stepgrandchild TJ Townsend (Kim); and his stepgreat-granddaughter Evelyn Townsend.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family funeral service will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 10:00 a. m. at St. Andrew's Ukrainian Orthodox Sobor, with Reverend Father Yuriy Suchevan officiating.
In lieu of other tributes, donations can be made to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation.
