He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank and Irene; his wife Olga; and his siblings, Floyd, Nester, Carol and Lynn.

He is survived by: his children, Colleen Sommerfeld (Ed) and Bradley Ludwick (Carol); his siblings, Joe Ludwick, Orest Ludwick, Lil Buga and Ann Tkachuk; and his grandchildren, Megan (Derek) and Jeremy Sommerfeld (Kiley).
