He was loved and cherished by many people including: his son Matthew Jr. Charles; his mother Marlene Blyan; his siblings, Randall Desjarlais (Deanna), Chalsy Carter, Cherish Blyan and Hailie Sunshine; his son Mathias Charles; his father Brian Charles; his siblings, Brian Charles, Terri-Lynn Charles and Carlene "Car-Car" Carter; and his grandparents, Alex Pachapis, Christine Blyan, Edwin and Matilda Charles.

A wake was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Chief Napew Memorial School (Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Pierceland, SK S0M2K0). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
