It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Luigina Persi (Edmonton, Alberta), who passed away on March 2, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Emilia Maria Castagnaro and Francesco Ferraro; and her siblings, Rosetta Ferraro, Michele Ferraro and Domenica Dal Pezzo.

She is survived by: her son Lino; her daughter-in-law Stephanie Persi; her daughter Sandina Persi-Roppo; her grandchildren, Anthony Persi, Domenic Persi, Nicholas Persi, Gianna Roppo and Luca Roppo; her siblings, Adelina Sanmartin (Antonio), Antonio of Italy, Pietro (Anjelica), Attanasio (Daniela) and Peppino (Maren); and her sister-in-law Emma Ferraro.

“My name is Jener and my wife's name is Teresita. We were shocked to the news about our friend's death. We call her Mother Gina because she was like a mother to us. When we first came to Canada in 2011, I became very sick. We don't have a car but Mother Gina visited me at our apartment and she brought me to the hospital. She always visited us and cooked pasta for us. She will be missed a lot. Our prayers are with you. May she rest in peace in the presence of her creator.”
