It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leonard Joseph Cherwonka of Edmonton, Alberta, who passed away on December 10, 2022, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Doreen; his siblings, Robert of Barrhead, AB, Stanley (Nancy) of St. Thomas, ON and Eleanor Arnold of Prince George, BC; his brother-in-law Walter Linkewich; and his parents, Anna Cherwonka and Stanley Cherwonka.
He is survived by: his children, Donald (Rose) of Edmonton, Bruce, Diane of Edmonton, AB, Gary (Jude Bailey) of Sooke, BC, Judy Lewis of Halifax, NS and Robert of Spruce Grove, AB; his grandchildren, Michelle, Amber, Crystal Lefebvre (Brad Simpson), Corwin Cherwonka, Susan Elia (Dave), Julie, David, Richard Duczynski (Amanda Gamache), Bobby, Cathlyn, Joshua Cherwonka and Claire Lewis; his great grandchildren, Chayton, Avery Cherwonka, Cash Cherwonka, Lucas Lefebvre, Kaitlyn and Scott Elia; his siblings, Violet Linkewich and Eugene (Maxine Magnan) of Edmonton, AB; his sister-in-law Theresa Cherwonka (Gleason) of Barrhead, AB.; his cousins, Phylis Halwa and Karpluck; his friend Bill Marvin; and his extended family, Mary Adams, Len and Theresa. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends.
