He was predeceased by: his parents, William Mercer (Bill) and Elizabeth Mercer (Beth); and his siblings-in-law, James (Jim), Eva Graham and Ivor Evans.

He is survived by: his wife Heather; his daughters, Christine (Kevin Tucker) of Lashburn, SK and Barbara (Landon Reppert) of Spruce Grove, AB; his stepsons, Peter Strynadka (Cheri) of Edmonton, AB and Graham Strynadka (Orena) of Sherwood Park, AB.; his grandchildren, Zachary, Abbey Tucker, Ashley, Parker Reppert, Andrew, Paige, Scott Strynadka, Devlin, Nathan, Julia Patrick, Logan and Colby Strynadka; his sister Merilyn Evans; and his brother-in-law Peter Graham (Noella). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friends.
