In Loving Memory of Joyce Didow It is with heavy hearts that the family of Joyce Didow announces that she has passed away peacefully at the age of 77, surrounded by her family. Joyce was a beloved wife, mother, baba, and friend to many.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 44 years and 219 days, Cecil Didow; children, Lara, Cecilia (Wilton), Peter (Renee), Cindy, Sarah (Cameron) and Dean; Grandchildren Ethan, Brayden, Michael M., Rachel, Aiden, Grace and Michael D., as well as countless friends, extended family, and other loved ones.
Joyce was pre-deceased by her parents, Ivy & Martin Bauer, her mother and father-in-law, Mike & Mary Didow, as well as her brother-in-law, Brian Didow.
Joyce was born in Melville, Saskatchewan where she resided until her teen years – following which she then moved to Edmonton to attend secretarial school. While she did indeed work as a secretary for many years, her true passion was nannying for numerous families, helping to shape the lives of children who became like family to her. Joyce also enjoyed bowling; Who would have known she'd meet the love of her life at a bowling alley? What followed was a beautiful life filled with children, happiness, love and laughter…all after spilling hot coffee on his lap at that bowling alley.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 PM on February 21st, 2024 at Evergreen Funeral Home – 16204 Fort Road, Edmonton.
