He was predeceased by: his parents, Chris Egbert and Jack Egbert; and his wife Helen. He is survived by: his daughters, Jan Regehr (Wayne) and Michelle Dedels (Tige); his stepchildren, Tamra Stretch, Marnie Stretch and Bob Stretch (Theresa); his grandchildren, Sean Regehr, Ryan Regehr, Jenn Regehr (Kyle), Jessie Dedels, Amy Dedels, Zack O'Geil (Nicole), Kendall Gorrell (Caleb), Luke O'Geil, Gabriel Jorand, Rob Stretch, Andrew Stretch, Matthew Stretch and Logan Stretch; his great grandchildren, Phoenix Dedels and Brinna Gorrell; and his brothers, Mark Egbert (Helen) and Steve Egbert (Verda).

He died peacefully in St. Albert at the Sturgeon Hospital on May 19, 2022 as the result of post-COVID complications.

Over the years they took in many cats and donated to a variety of animal causes.
