He was predeceased by: his sisters, Frieda DeBoer and Jane Mantel. He is survived by: his children, Ann Prins (George), Joyce Elhard (Ward), Sylvia Babiuk (Don), Deb Tetz (Darryl) and Greg DeWacht; and his siblings, Tina Bergman, Rolie Boer and Joe. He is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren.
