He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hut and Nancy Hut; his grandparents, John and Sophie Litven; his uncles, Walter and Mike Litven; and his father-in-law Harry Hennig.

He is survived by: his wife Janet; his daughters, Jaclyn Stokes (Wilson) and Joella Anderson (Chris); his grandchildren, Michael, Emily Stokes, Cassie and Shelby Anderson; his brothers, Dave (Linda) and Larry; his mother-in-law Marie Hennig; his siblings-in-law, Craig Hennig (Jennifer) and Valerie Franchuk (Dwayne); his nephews, Chris, Thomas Hut, Devon Hennig (Nicole) and Jarrett Hennig; his great-nephews, Colin and Desmond Hennig; and his aunt Joanne Litven.

The family requests that any memorial donations be directed to either STARS Air Ambulance (give.stars.ca), Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital (Glenrosefoundation.com) or the neo-natal unit at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Jerry's memory.
