She was predeceased by: her parents, Johanna Messal and Edmund Messal; and her siblings, Alfriede Berwald and Arnold Messal. She is survived by: her brother Reinhard Messal (Sandra); and her sister-in-law Helga Messal. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
