He is survived by: his wife Winnie; his children, John (Inger), Shirley (Cecil), Jim (Anita), Bob (Caroline), Elly, Debby and Bill (Meg); his brother Ben (Tonny); and his sister-in-law Eppie Lindemulder. He is also survived by his 29 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
