He was predeceased by: his parents, Antonio Duarte and Piedade Duarte; his brothers, Jose and Ceaser Duarte; and his brothers-in-law, Joaquim Reis and Alberto Neves.
He is survived by: his siblings, Saozita Reis (Firmino Lucas), Carmo Antunes (Jose), Rosa Neves and Luis Duarte (Rosa); and his sister-in-law Carmo Duarte. He is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.
