Geert Smid Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Geert Smid (Edmonton, Alberta), who passed away on February 15, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Geert is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Geert's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jan Smid and Roelofje (Huisman); and his brothers, Frank, Sidney (Carrie) and Herman.
He is survived by: his sisters, Grace (Ted), Audrey (Raymond) and Henny (Don); and his children, Rose (Brian), John, Bruce (Lisa) and Mark.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the First Christian Reformed Church (10956 96 St, Edmonton, AB T5H2M9).
