He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Shinkaruk and Anne Shinkaruk. He is survived by: his wife Ollie; his children, Rodney, Richard (Cheryl) and Deborah (Lyle); and his grandchildren, Karissa, Kaelynn, Phelan, Mackenzie and Sage.

A funeral Mass was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church (210 Haddow Close NW, Edmonton, AB T6R3W3).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please donate to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta, T6G 1Z2.
