With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Florence Van Reede (Edmonton, Alberta), born in Regina, Saskatchewan, who passed away on December 22, 2022 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Cook and Ella Cook. She is survived by: her husband Henry; her brother Brian (Violet); and her sisters-in-law, Wilma Van Reede, Joan Martens, Frances VanderWekken and Judy Duska (Halid). She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

“My condolences Henry. I remember Lynn years ago as a student of mine. I recall that she took detailed notes in class using shorthand and later presented me with a complete transcript. We soon became colleagues in the Department of Sociology at the University of Alberta where Lynn served as office manager and graduate student coordinator. I always appreciated her dedication and loyalty. Lynn was a student, colleague and friend. I will miss her dearly.”
