He was predeceased by: his brother William; his parents, Michael Matwichuk and Alexandra Matwichuk; and his brothers-in-law, Rick Kuzyk and Jim Burton.
He is survived by: his wife Terry; his children, Richard and Rebecca Witty (Brad); his granddaughters, Freya and Ella; and his sister Betty Matwichuk (Bob Hesketh).
