He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Edna; his parents, Julius Steinke and Lydia Steinke; and his brothers, Arthur and Rudy Steinke.
He is survived by: his children, Ken Steinke (Tina) of Langley, BC and Sharon Whitson (David) of Fort Saskatchewan, AB; and his grandchildren, Lana Wright (Shawn) of Ladner, BC, Andrea Burns (Blake) of Ladner, BC, Kim Pelan (Jon) of Ladner, BC, Trevor Gorton (Laura Trapp) of Edmonton, AB and TJ Gorton (Sandi Whitford) of Fort Saskatchewan, AB. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren, extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.
