He was predeceased by: his parents, Mike Maik and Mary Maik; and his siblings, Marshall, Albert, Leonard Maik and Joyce Maik.

He is survived by: his siblings, Lillian Zurba of Camrose, Irene Wildeman (John) of Sherwood Park and Harry Maik of Edmonton; and his sisters-in-law, Iris Maik of Edmonton and Linda Maik of Calgary. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
