We bid farewell to Doreen Mary Mickelsen of Athabasca, Alberta, born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 9, 2025 at the age of 91. Doreen touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her husband Jim; her parents, Sydney Harper and Marguerite Harper; and her brother Ron Harper. She is survived by: her children, Chris (Pauline), Marianne Andresen (Roy), Peter (Arlene), Heather Struski (Ken) and Carl; her close friends, Nick (Melissa), Allan (Hayley), Samantha (Austin), Thomas, Andrew (Jen), Sarah (Ellis), Trina (Adam), Eric (Sarah), Kristen, Daniel (Jody), Larissa (Tyler), Paul (Liane), Ben (Sarah) and Jacob (Taylor); and her great grandchildren, Astrid, Aksel, Soren, Alma, June, Chloe, Talon, Claire, Jamie and William.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Athabasca United Church (4817 48 St, Athabasca, AB T9S1R3).
Memorial donations may be made in Doreen's memory to the Athabasca Healthcare Auxiliary Association or to a charity of one's choice in Doreen's memory.
