He is survived by: his wife Laurette Strong; his children, Ashley (Sandra Beggs), Austen and Avarey (Jeremy Amyotte); and his grandchildren, Rainen, Amaia, Owen and Jaxson.

“In loving memory of Don O'Kurley, Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss. I knew Don since Grade 3. There were 3 of us Don's, all born in May in the same classroom. The teacher chose Donald OKurley, I was Don and Donny Chorney was the third (to keep us straight). We ended up working together at Swifts and played hockey together. Don will be sorely missed.”
