He was predeceased by: his parents, Noel and Cecile of Elie, MB; his siblings, Aline Manaigre of Lorette, MB. and Gilbert Girard of Edmonton, AB; his siblings-in-law, Viona Girard of Winnipeg, MB. and Jake Murray of Fannystelle, MB.; his niece Louise Franzmann of Fannystelle; and also Ron Dawes of Stony Plain, AB..

He is survived by: his sons, Brian (LeeAnn) of Camrose, AB. and James (Kris) of Edmonton, AB.; the mother of his children Lynne Girard; his grandchildren, Taylor (Courtney), Danielle and Justin; his great grandchild Briggs; his siblings, Therese Murray of Winnipeg, MB., Sister Yvette of Kingston, ON., Estelle Rivard of Winnipeg, MB., Louis Girard of Winnipeg, MB. and Ben Girard (Janine) of Headingley, MB.; and his siblings-in-law, Yvette Girard of Edmonton, AB. and Gilles Manaigre of Lorette, MB. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.

As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Denis's name to Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
