He is survived by: his wife Sirkka; his daughters, Karen Kadatz and Gwen Sarafinchan (Doug); his stepdaughter Liisa Vesaniemi (Andrey Shmatov); his grandchildren, Carlene (Dan), Jillian (Armin), Christopher, Sammy-Jo, Stephanie, Mark and Kate; his great grandchildren, Frances and Layla; and his brother-in-law Mike Gawryluk. He is also survived by in-laws and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to Glory Lutheran Church, or the Cross Cancer Institute.
