He was predeceased by: his parents, James Mitchell and Joan Mitchell. He is survived by: his wife Nina; his children, Kerry (Kristina) and Cassie; his siblings, Val, Judy, Shawn (Alan), Eileen (Jeff), Pat (Teresa) and Kelly; and his grandchildren, Cash, Stella, Brooklynn and Dyson. He is also survived by brother in laws and sister in laws and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the University Hospital Foundation.
