He is survived by: his wife Gloria Kay Richer; his son Paul David Richer (Monique Richer); his grandchildren, Timothy Virgil Richer (Marlene Richer), Cory Angus Richer, Laura Ann Bishop, Jennifer Amanda Richer, Jacob Alexander Richer and Emily Marie Richer; and his great grandchildren, Dylan, Kate, John, Alisha and Kyla.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Brian's name to The Diabetes Society of Canada or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada.
