He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander and Emelie. He is survived by: his wife Elsie; his children, Kevin (Erica) and Karen (Ben); his grandchildren, Corbin (Cassidy), Preston (Stephanie), Alexandra, Eliah, McKynna and Amara; and his sister Frieda.

“I am disheartened to learn of Alfred's passing, but lightened in my distress by the firm belief that he is with those who predeceased, including family, in the presence of Christ our saviour. May Elsie and his children and grandchildren be similarly able to understand that our pain in losing a friend, family member and righteous person, be tempered with the knowledge that he is in a far better place with our Lord Jesus Christ and in the presence of God. Till we meet again, Aufwiedershen Alfred.”
