He was predeceased by: his parents, Johann Bjalek and Ruth Bjalek; and his siblings, Hilde Kropf (Oskar), Lilli Nakonechny and Len.
He is survived by: his wife Grace; his sons, Gerrit of Edmonton and Ken (Leanne) of Calgary; his grandchildren, Khogan and Berkana; and his siblings, Ted Bjalek, Dick Bjalek (Lynda) and Heidi Huedepohl (Chuck). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
