He is survived by: his wife Linda; his sons, Sean (Lori), Tommy, Cody (Marla), Johnboy and Rocky; his grandchildren, Jessica Paul (Kyle), Cameron Waterchief, Antaya Cardinal (Josh), Sam Onespot, Shania Backfat, Denver Backfat, Shania Wasacase (Christian), Joley, Grayson Backfat, Treysen, Denzel Backfat, Montana Manyheads (Richard), Dally Backfat and Lane Solway; his great grandchildren, Evan, Alex, Liam Paul, Kayde Cardinal, Eva Wasacase and Crowchief Ronald; and his siblings, Julia Backfat, Betty Hewton (Ron), Marie Blackrider, Rachel First Rider, Esther Runningrabbit, Bernadette Big Snake, Stella Turning Robe, Clifton Backfat, Rex Backfat and Elliott Backfat.
A wake was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 6:00 PM and on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Gordon Yellowfly Memorial.
