He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerhard and Hedwig; his stepfather Morris; his sisters, Heddy and Irma; and his grandson Reid Malaka.
He is survived by: his friend Phyllis of Delia, AB; his children, Robert (Stephanie) of Crossfield, AB, Melanie (Rodney) of Acme, AB and Christopher (Tanya) of Airdrie, AB; his siblings, Tony, Gerry, Fred, Gerda "Maggie" and Magda "Maggie"; and also, Lucie and Humphrey.
