He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Diehl and Eva Diehl; his brother Gary Diehl; his sister-in-law Della Diehl; his parents-in-law, Betty Moar and William Doyle; his brother-in-law Gerald Doyle; and his nephew Darcy Doyle.

He is survived by: his wife Betty; his daughter Kristin Diehl (Martin Seagrave); his siblings, Dwight Diehl, Audrey West (Garth), David Diehl (Geraldine) and Laurie Diehl; his nephew Tyson Diehl; and his niece Morgan Attwell (Derek).
