He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Blanchet and Simone Blanchet; and his siblings, Alain, Claude, Marcel Blanchet and Lise Blanchet.

He is survived by: his close friend Francine Drolet; his children, Dominic Blanchet and Chantal Gwin (Tony); his grandsons, Keenan and Tanner Gwin; his sisters, Rene Bahrij, Denise Goupil (Marcel) and France Andersen (Alain); and his nephew Sylvain Boutet. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, loving relatives and friends.
