With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gérard Philippe Béland of Donnelly, Alberta, born in McLennan, Alberta, who passed away on November 21, 2021 at the age of 87. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Gérard Philippe Béland to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Blanche Gravel and Jean-Baptiste Béland; his wife Lilian; his siblings, Yvette, Marcel and Roger (Jeanette); his nephew Paul; and his niece Louise.
He is survived by: his children, Margaux (Peter Engelmann), Suzanne (Paul Preston), Jacqueline (Paul Bennett) and Jean (Judy Garber); his grandchildren, Nathaniel, Olivier, Camille, Toni Preston, Sébastien, Alexandre Engelmann, Dominique and Nicolas Bennett; his brother Victor (Joan); and his sister-in-law Mary. He is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID, this service will be by invitation only.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations, in Gérard's memory, to either a charity of your choice or the Edmonton - Wings of Providence Second Stage Shelter (P.O. Box 32141, Edmonton, T6K 4C2), which provides shelter and support to battered women.
