He was predeceased by: his parents, Jan Visser and Martina Visser; and his siblings, Rita and Braam. He is survived by: his daughter Sarah of London; his wife Connie Visser of Didsbury; his daughter Diana of London; his grandson Theodore (Rusty); and his siblings, Sue, Martin, Leo and Dennis. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rocky Mountain Rail Society to support the restoration and maintenance of the Steam Locomotive 6060: The Spirit of Alberta.
