He was predeceased by: his son Darcy; his parents, John and Rose; and his siblings, Martin and Anna Mae.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his children, Kimberly Kroetch (Cindy Grover) of Winfield, Christina Freeman of Calgary, John Kroetch (Cindy) of Millet and Audie Mehlen (Bill) of Lethbridge; and his sisters, Germaine Nelson (Clare) of Medicine Hat and Barbara Schmidt (Arnold) of Medicine Hat. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.

If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions in Frederick's memory may be made to the Camrose and Area Animal Shelter Society.
