He was predeceased by: his wife Georgette Poirier; and his siblings, Raymond, Leger Poirier, Olive Bourgeois and Lea Briere.

He is survived by: his sons, Alphonse Poirier (Donna) of Cold Lake, AB and Victor Poirier of Red Deer, AB; his grandchildren, Lee Poirier (Rachelle), Brent Poirier (Amber), Steve Poirier and Jennifer Delorme (Martin); his great grandchildren, Shylynn Delorme, Linden Poirier, Levi Poirier, Spencer Poirier and Sophie Poirier; his sisters, Aurore Ouellette of Cold Lake and Lorraine Gawley of Edmonton; and his brothers-in-law, Ernest Bourgeois of Cold Lake and Peter Briere of Cold Lake.
