He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie McDonald and Grace Summerfield. He is survived by: his sons, Brad McDonald (Angela) of Cold Lake, AB and John McDonald (Lina) of Calgary, AB; his grandchildren, Zachary and Taylor McDonald; and his siblings, Brent, Dale McDonald and Elaine Sommer.
