He was predeceased by: his wife Gloria; his son Andy; his grandson Ryley; his siblings, Irene, Diane, Allen and Harvey; and his parents, Ernest and Lydia.

He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Hartfelder (Rolly) of Calgary, Sonya Nelson (Lee) of Stavely and Dan Hartfelder (Marilyn) of Claresholm; and his sister Elaine Wagner (Bob). He is also survived by seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
