He was predeceased by: his parents, Aleida Elyzen and Albertus Elyzen; and his brothers, Albert Elyzen and Bart Elgin. He is survived by: his wife Elaine of Claresholm; his daughter Bev Berry of Olds; his granddaughter Chelsey Berry (Eric); his daughter Susan Dutton (Elliot) of Thorhild County; his granddaughter Melissa Dutton (Rhyan); his great grandchild Mylee; his grandson Justin Dutton (Jenna); his son Steve Elyzen (Belinda) of Stavely; his granddaughter Shealynn Williams (Noel); his great grandchildren, Daylee and Braxyn; and his siblings, Gerrie Singh and Rene Elyzen. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
